Ramadan is a religious observance, where the faithful fast from dawn to sunset for a month. This year Ramadan is expected to begin around 9 July. The essence of this fast is to remember those less fortunate, but it also comes with the nutritional challenge of eating fried foods and less-than-healthy desserts when the time comes to eat after sunset.
